We have several sco unix 5.0 boxes that are falling off the network exactly 24hours after they come back up. They are used as a platform for our billing software at our pharmacies. They boxes are all brand new PC's with socket 370 processors and a gigabyte GA-6VTXE mainbaord. We have swapped nics scoured the bios for every possible setting and the only theory we have is that the switches at the stores might be causing some sort of disruption but it doesn't seem to effect the win 95 or win2k pc's. ANY information or trouble shooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

voly,

What do you exactly mean by "falling of the network?"

Are they just unreachable via the network, or do they actually shutdown or reboot?

Are these systems spread out at multiple remote locations, or just at a single location?

Are there any suspicious messages appearing on the system consoles for these boxes?

Have you looked at the system log files with a focus on the time right before and after they are unavailable?

Can you see if there are any error counts related to the network interface(s)?

Are any other pieces of hardware in these environments displaying abnormal behavior?
