Got two IP Offices using SCN and sharing one VM Pro. I am looking for some documentation that would explain how to setup ARS to dial certain area codes out one of the IP Office trunks.

System A: Located in Phoenix, AZ: Local dialing has area code 480, 602 and 623.

System B: Located in Prescott, AZ: Local dialing to prefixes 427, 437, 668 within the 928 area code.

I would like all System B calls to [480,602,623]-NPA-XXXX to route through the network and dial out on the trunks via System A.

Accordingly, I would like all System A calls to 928-[427,437,668]-XXXX to route through the network and dial out on the trunks via System B.

I know this seems pretty basic and am positive you could "walk" me through it, but would rather read the documentation in order to learn it all together.

Thanks in advance for your help. Again..

No documentation that specific exists, this relies on your own knowledge and understanding of the system and shortcodes to accomplish.

As an example if I wanted all numbers that started 480 to be dialled out another system I would enter the following shortcode:

SC - 480N
Feat - Dial
Tel No - 480N
Line Gp - SCN link line Gp

when it hits the other system it will attempt to match line shortcodes first (these require a reboot to add/change) so route the call accordingly from there :-)

Andy,
1 thing he may need is ; on the short codes. we use that a lot in the us. so codes like this

1480N;
Dial
91480N
line of SCN.

this assumes the remote system uses 9 to dial out.

I already thought of that, that's why I recommended routing the call from line shortcodes rather than system shortcodes to avoid the 9, fair point with the ; :-)

Wow.. That was easy enough.. I did just a short code of 8N on each system. On the remote system, I had it dial across the IP trunk group (51 in this case) and it hit the other system and dialed out.

With that I should be able to setup a dialing plan.

Very nice.

Thanks again!

if you want you can also use a break out button to allow users to select which switch they want to route out of.

Hi All,

Just to add to this topic, I have 4 offices in different states that I would like to set up similar to the scenario above. I'm just a little confused on how to do it.

I have H323 Line's set up via SCN to each of the offices.

Is it easiest to just add the short codes to the lines? Or should I add it to the system short code?

Is there anything I need to do in ARS as well?

Thanks!

I setup the short codes (dialing plan) to use the IP trunks across the SCN network and then made sure I included the 9 so that it uses the remote sites short codes. If you like, I can post my configuration.

Dbrewsky,

Just saw your post. That would be great if you could post your config.

Thanks!
