I have two sites running IPO 500v2 with version 9.1.0.437. Site B has 4 networking channels and is essential edition. Site A has 4 networking channels and is Preferred edition and a VM Pro server. I have an IP route setup at both sites with all zeros for the IP and Mask and the gateway is pointed to the local internal interface of the firewall. The destination is set to LAN 1. I have created a H323 line at each site giving Site A Line number 35 and Outgoing group ID 35, set the number of channels to 4 and on the VOIP tab I set the gateway address to the internal interface of the firewall at site B, allow direct media is checked and I am using G711 ULAW and G729. In the Supplementary Services drop down I only see H450 and QSIG ( I was thinking I would see SCN) I chose H450. Site B Line number 36 and Outgoing group ID 36, set the number of channels to 4 and on the VOIP tab I set the gateway address to the internal interface of the firewall at site A, allow direct media is checked and I am using G711 ULAW and G729. In the Supplementary Services drop down I only see H450 and QSIG ( I was thinking I would see SCN) I chose H450.

There is an active vpn tunnel between the sites and I can ping the phone system from the opposite site. I have SCN discovery turned on in the preferences. I have rebooted both sites many times and when I discover the sites it does not show the SCN discovery and I cannot extension dial between sites.

What have I missed?

A screenshot would be easier to understand than your description.

and on the VOIP tab I set the gateway address to the internal interface of the firewall at site B

That's the problem, in the line settings "gateway" you enter the other IP Office IP address, not the firewall/router address, poor choice of wording by Avaya :)

And bad reading of the documentation or you were picking the nose during the training...

amriddle01,

Thanks for the info. I had tried it originally with the LAN IP of the IPO and had no luck with that and I then found a post that said to use the internal interface of the firewall. I have set it back to the IP of the IPO at the opposite end.

Jhon88 ,

Thank you for the post. You nailed it, this was the problem. Every SCN I had done to this point was prior to 9.1.
I appreciate your help.

it reefers to the H323 Gateway - Gateway is a term defined in the H323 Specification (It has Gateways & Gate keepers) so we cannot blame Avaya for this one.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

H323 trunks (SCN or otherwise) have always* required the IP Address of the Remote IP Office so we cant blame V9.1 Vs anything else for this either.

*H232 trunks go back to at least Argent Branch V2.1 (probably V1.0 but 2.1 is as far back as I go.)

Indeed, Jhon88 wouldn't have nailed anything if you hadn't changed that :)
