I'd like to schedule performance monitor to capture the same counters during the same time period everyday on a Win2k Server and create a new log for each day. Ex: 4:00am to 7:00pm monday trough friday. Any idea on how to accomplish this task either using perfmon, scheduler or a script???

What you need is to craate a log file.

Once you have selected the counters and instances, and created the log, check the Schedule Tab.

Tip adjust the interval to 15 -> 60 seconds if you are short of diskspace.

Once you have created the log, you need to load it into the monitor and check the graph of your data.

I would say take a class in Windows 2000!! Come on Snaffoo I know you got your MCSE NT4 but man oh man, I'm gonna have to refer you to Dee on this one...
Seriously though- I agree w/ GuyThomas...

Unfortunately the schedule tab does not contain a perameter to run the same counters everyday during the same time period. The only way to do so is to kick it off manually. Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

bran2235...If you had read the question properly you would realise that snaffoo wants to schedule the perfmon counter DAILY. You can not do that through perfmon...you can only schedule the start and end times for a particular date.

I'm gonna have to refer you to a Windows 2000 class... Seriously though, you should read the question properly before trying to insult others.

-Aatari,
Hey man, Appreciate you 'following up' on this- but 2003 just called and they want their question / and answer book back.
CATCH UP WITH THE TIMES here, MAAAAaaaannn!!!!
Oh, and by the way, snaffoo is a buddy of mine and he knew exactly where I was going with this.

Sooo, wipe the dust off of your monitor and the cobwebs from your eyes and give 2003 back their answer... I think I posted this answer over 8 months ago!! C'mon!! If you just had a Win2000 Cert- maybe you wouldn't need to be answering NT4 posts.

Cheers :)
