Hi guys,

I put my test db on a scheduled backup. It stats the it is 100 percent backed up.

i then get this error message:

[SQLSTATE 01000] (Message 3211) Processed 1 pages for database 'test',
file 'test_log' on file 1. [SQLSTATE 01000] (Message 4035)
BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormall... The step failed.

any ideas why after backing up 100% it then terminates abnormally.. and the job fails?

any suggestions would be gretfully received...

thanks

Check to see if the database is in Simple mode. Open Enterprise Manager and drill down to your Test DB. Right-click on the Test DB and choose Properties. In the Options tab, you will see what the current Recovery Mode is set to. 10 to 1 it is Simple. Change it to FULL and try your backup job again.

Thanks

no db is not in simple mode it is in full mode.. does transaction logs fine but just wont do a full backup...

any other suggestions would be greatfully received...

Grant could you post the full text of the backup step that is running in your schedule.

Have you tried backing up the database manually through Enterprise Manager ?

What are you backing up to? Is the location getting full?

Are you doing this backup via a job? If so, right click on the job, select View Job History..., check the box for Show step details. Is there anything that would give a further explanation of the error?

Also, check the Windows Event Viewer Logs to see if there are any related error messages beside the one you posted.
