Scheduled backup fails

I have a nightly scheduled backup that uses the win2K backup utility to save to 1 travan tape.

It has worked and works fine if i kick it off manually (most of the time) But it almost never runs at 23:00. There are no error messages or logs, the correct media is loaded.

has anybody met a similar probem?

Think that your backup has some problems with the permissions.

Take a look at your scheduled tasks, which account are you using for your backupjob?? (must have backup-operators rights)
