Running Win 7 and cannot run Backup. I set it to backup to a USB Drive that was too small. Backup fails. Every time I try to change the settings or anything I get the Backup has stopped working stuff. Problem log shows this and report sent. I noticed that the shield for administrator is displayed but I never get the dialog to continue as administrator. Below is the output from the problem report:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsBackup

This offers you the option to reset the backup configuration back to default via the Registry.

Thanks for the reply: I did this and it's seems that I have a larger problem. I cannot use Windows backup at all. I cannot create a Image disk. I cannot create a restore disk. Any thing I do with windows backup crashes. I did not have these issues with the RC version??

Thanks

Exception Code: c0000005

The above error is often indicative of a lack of appropriate access permissions either to files or in the registry.

Did you have the RC version on this machine, and did you upgrade Windows 7 over the RC version?

You can look at this program as an aid to diagnosing your crashes.

Process Monitor v2.8

Again Thanks for your time! Answers to your questions No I had RC on a different machine. No I did a clean install from Vista to Home Premium. I will check the above site.

Thanks

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Try it first by not checking either box (this will run it in a Read-only mode) to see if it flags any hard drive or file problems. If it does, restart it by ticking both boxes, and rerun it to allow it to attempt to fix any found problems.

Reset the registry and restarted. Reduced the size of the backup but it failed again. Reset the registry again but now the backup has stopped working and will close. Will now look into cloud backup.

Thanks
