Hi,

I'm trying to program a new 2616 on a particular free TN but am getting sch0807 - TN is valid but unable to match type. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks.

what tn are you using? i've gotten that response when the data port on that card had a station built.. if tn 4 0 0 16 is built as a 2007, 4 0 0 0 will have to be an 8

I'm using TN 036 0 00 14. There are 6 of the 2006 type sets programmed on other units on the card including unit 00. I tried programming a 2006 on unit 14 just as a test and got the same sch0807.

Make sense?

As per John's post check the status of TN 036-0-00-30. If vacant then should not pose an issue. I think you get a different SCH error if it is programmed anyway but worth confirming. Can you program on another spare TN on a differnet card - as test case? Also check licensing - have you enough digital TN's?

it does look like the wronge code for that. check the last post, and when do you get the code. after the set type or before?

I did a stat on the card and came back with

Unit 14=DSBL (2317)
Unit 30=UNEQ

When I try and PRT the TNB for that TN I get

No ACT since no date

Any more ideas guys?

The stat say's that TN is programmed as a 2317 type of phone. That TN is not free, how are you determing that it is free????

I did a PRT of the TNB on that card and it skips from 36 13 to 36 15. There is no mention of 36 14. I would take this as meaning that it is a free TN.

Corruption maybe?

type can not equal new because the set is programed as a 2317. the possible commands are out, prt or chg. since you want that tn i would prt then out. or enlu then idu to see it the set is still out there. if the tn is vacant (no jumper) i would just blow it away. it can not be used as a forwarding set because the forward and hunt die with midn

It was stated in an earlier post that when you print this TN, it says, "no act since no date". Is this an Option 11? I have see this before and it is usually due to software corruption. You could try doing a datadump, then do a sysload. If this does not clear this TN, you will need technical assistance from someone who knows how to blow away this TN in pdt.

Correct. I cannot either CHG, PRT or OUT the TN.

This is an option 11 and I seem to remember a corruption problem with relocation.

I will try a PRT of the SRDT in LD 21 when I get a chance and this may point me in the right direction.

Thank you everyone for your help.

I remember having a simular problem involving 2317 and it was on an option 11 that wasn't cleared out before installed. the 2317 was a model set. Try to print model 2317's and see if it shows up.

I looked up the nemonic for the model and it would be
2317 M

that tn is not a model, it's assigned to a tn?

I agree with the corruption, mentioned by kprintz. You will need to do an EDD then reset the system. If you prt the TN it shows a 2317 and no keys assigned.

why ini before the ini? that writes the data your trying to blow away. chances are it's already on the drive and you'll need pdt to get it cleared.. i would try an ini, but i wouldn't hold my breath.. do not run an edd clr, that command can write problems to the drives, with luck a nogo bad data stopped the last backup

Did a PRT of the SRDT but got no results.
Tried a CHG on 036 14 but getting SCH2501 - An attempt was made to change a telephone that is in the process of relocating.

This is definitely corruption on the switch. Will try the EDD and Sysload.

Thanks again everyone.

OK, I'll not try the EDD.

Might just contact the PBX vendor and let them worry about it. Thanks again.

may be the best way to go, it's a pain when you ini and the darn box stays down for a while, have a good turkey
