Is it possible to use an SCC Port Cabinet J58890H as an Expansion Control Cabinet J58890N? Is conversion possible, or is the backplane completely different?

Thanks very much.

An SCC is an expansion cabinet for an existing or new stack, but you must have an EPN (890N)to create a new port network. And yes the backplane is different and will require TN570 expansion interfaces and 9823A/B fiber interfaces to connect the EPN to the PPN.

Does anyone have access to schematic diagrams for these SCC carriers?

Thanks.

I just noticed an SCC expansion control cabinet with tone/expint/maint on ebay for $100 plus $85 shipping. Not sure what kind of frankenstein experiment you are planning with the schematics but $185 sounds like a better option.

Also, I believe an SCC port carrier can be used to control a port network in a dual PN stack. i.e. it cannot be the A carrier with exp-int if A & B are PN5 for example, but it could be the C carrier with exp-inf controlling C&D as PN6.
