Scanner errors

Hello,

I have a friend at work that wanted me to post this for her. She recently bought an HP scanner and installed it on her computer. When she tries to use it she gets these errors.
1.UNDEFINED PROGRAM ERROR OCCURRED (2117)
2.DEFAULT FILE CORRUPT OR CANNOT FIND (2087)
She said that she has tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device but still recieves these errors. I know that she runs Win 98 as her OS. If you need any additional information I'm sure I can get it. Thanks in advance.

-Is there a conflict with it in Device Manager?
-Did she check the HP website for a later driver version?
-How is it connected to her system(USB, Parallel Port, SCSI)?
