I have a Toshiba laptop and an HP G85 printer that has an on-screen director. I have been told the director is not compatible with Windows XP. This is also stated in the literature that came with the printer. I was also told that all functions that are handled by the on-screen director can be accessed via the front panel of the printer Except the scanning features. I have to go to Control Panel, then Scanners and Cameras. All I get here are the camera selections. What I want to do is scan my fax cover into my computer and be able to type in who it is to, etc. and then send. Does anyone know any way to get around this so that I can edit items scanned?
