Hi there,

First of all thanks for you time.

I have a problem with mail on my network. Mail is working to an extent but some is put in a queue and remains there for some time. Some users receive messages telling them that their message is delayed. SMTP is used and all mail goes in and out via port 25.

MS Exchange 2003 is the app being used.

Is anyone else experiencing these problems?

Cheers,

Tom

Make sure that you have installed Exchange 2003 SP1. There is a hotfix that you need to install after installing that on SBS. MSKB 843539

If you take a look at the smtp queues, I think you will find that you probably have a lot of non-delivery-reports that are holding things up. Delete them and set your system to non allow NDRs. This cleared this problem up for me at several customer sites. I also found that installing the IMF helped a lot by stripping out all of the SPAM.

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

Regards,

Mark
