I have installed SBS on a server. In the offce there are a few people who have NT workstations. I would love to instal Office 2000 and outlook 2003 in addition to a few other apps.

Seems like I heard of some not so good ideas on installing Outlook on the same machne as Exchange server. If this is true, why then would they give you the term server licenses with the sbs server?

Anyone tried this?

Seen any issues?

I posted this same response in your Exchange forum cross posting:

There are problems with MAPI when you install Outlook on an Exchange box. In fact Microsoft does not support it.

I think however that you are confused about SBS and TS. SBS can not function as a TS in Application Sharing Mode. Instead SBS offers the Remote Web Workplace which allows users to remote control their work PCs from home after authenticating against the server.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Just a side note, with Outlook Web Access there really is no need to have Outlook installed on the server. You can check mail from the server throught the web browser.

Your right I thought they could use the T/S features. As it is they only use the remote desktop of thei pc at work. That is good but has some limitations, meaning I would like them to be ablet o not have to purchase some PC's and use T/S for their heavy duty processing.

Thanks for the insight.

You can add a second server that would be a TS box. You would need a second public IP for that though.

I hope you find this post helpful.
