I'm running Citrix Metaframe XPs SP3 on Windows 2000 server. I'm running into problems being able to save documents in the client's my documents/hard drive. While trying to save, the options are to save to the servers hard drive but obviously this isn't what we'd like to do. I'm somewhat of a newbie with Citrix so i'd appreciate detailed help if anyone has some. Thanks.

In "Citrix Connection Configuration", clients, make sure that client drive mapping is enabled.
That should give you the client's local drives mapped in the explorer of your citrix session.

In the Citrix Connection Configuration under the Client Settings dialog box there are several options to check for Client Mapping Overrides. Disable Client Drive Mapping is one of them, however it is checked without the ability to uncheck it as you've prescribed. I've tried multiple combinations of checking and unchecking other options under the Client Settings yet this box is never activated to be able to uncheck it. Are there settings elsewhere that would free this option up? I appreciate your help!

try the following from a citrix session, in a command prompt

net use * \\client\c$

does it work? if so can you access the * drive? can you write a file to it?

Can you try and get the start menu bar on your PC, there will be an "ica" icon in the tool bar, double click this, then click the security button, what are the access rights? if they aren't full access, make them so and choose the never ask me again for any application.

Leave the Citrix Connection Config option as default, all ticked but with inherit user config ticked, you shouldn't be able to change them!

Cheers,
Carl.

The net use * \\client\c$ generated an error on my pc while connecting to Citrix via an NFuse login. The setup i'm currently running just serves up the application, not the entire desktop so i'm not sure if that would make a difference. Also, I changed the access rights for a session like mentioned above but i still can't access "My Documents" on my hard drive to save a file while connected to Microsoft Word via Citrix. Any further suggestions?

Sounds like the drives have been disabled, ensure that in Citrix Connection Config, you don't have ticks in any disable drives option. And also in your configuration within Active Computers and Users within your AD.

Cheers,
Carl.

I've disabled these ticks in the Citrix Connection Config for the connection ica-tcp Citrix ICA 3.0 and for the connection rdp-tcp Microsoft RDP 5.0 but i'm still not able to access the client's drives for saving purposes. Any one have any other ideas?

Double check the client security settings. The easy way is when they are connected to have them right click on the ICA icon on the upper left corner and choose client security settings. They should choose full access and never ask me again.
