in OE email is stored as a .dbx files.
to find where ur message is stored go to tools - options - maintenance - and click store folder which will give you the location where ur email messages are stored.
tools - address book and you can export address book as a wab file and copy it to the disc

Best thing is to go here and find the free utility called outlook express freebie backup. It will do everything you need. Great place for OE tips etc.
