Hello Folks,

I have several XP workstations that access files off the server. When the file is saved it will make a duplicate copy of the file in the server folder where the actual file exists. The duplicate file is random numbers and letters. This of course is making for quite a collection of useless files.
Anybody have an idea how this is happening? I connect by way of a 98 machine and the duplication does not happen. Of course the 98 machine is usually logged in as administrator whereas the XP machines are given full rights.

Thanks,

Smitty

Have you enabled offline files and folders on the XP machines? What server OS are you using?

SimonD.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

The server we are using is NT. I am unfamiliar with what you mean regarding enabling offline files and folders.
