Save picture as only save as a untiled bmp

I have windows me and Ie 5.5 .When i want to save a jpeg form the net i right click on the photos and select save picture as and the only way i can save the photo is a untitled bmp file.There is no options to save it as a jpeg.
Here is an example on the top of this page if I right clcik on the tech-tips forum logo and want to save it i can only save it as a untilted bmp.This happens on every page I try to download a jpeg.

What version of IE or Netscape are you using? Do you have any graphic software installed like Paint Shop Pro or Adobe?
What about Front Page? If you can make front page your HTML editor in IE Tools than it should work. The picture at the type of the page is a .gif file. Recheck your advanced Internet Settings. ???

Im using IE 5.5 with windows Me.
I have paintshop pro installed.
I have front page express installed,but i dont show up in the html editor inm the tools section.
Microsoft word for windows and notepad only show up.
What about the advanced settings ?

You might try a screen capture app. like snagit.
