We are installing twin video cards to make our document imaging easier to view. They run so that you can drag a window from one screen to the other, but maximising a window maximises it only on one screen and doesn't spread it across both.
One user has a Satellite pro P200. This uses a ati mobility radeon hd 2400, and this page says it can run two displays.
'Drive two displays simultaneously with independent resolutions, refresh rates, color controls and video overlays for each display'

Does anyone happen to know if we will be able to run two screens on this thing as we want to?

i've just got access to it, and yes it runs twin screens nicely

Don't maximize: just position it on the top left of the left screen and drag the bottom right to the bottom right of the right screen.

Well no, you can set these things up in various ways. Either one huge wide screen, one huge tall screen or what is normally called cloned. In this case, the task bar lives on one screen and if you maximise a programme it will only fill the one screen. This for us is brilliant. We can have our document imaging full screen on one screen and use the other as normal.
It is a really good way to work, we've been plugging in £35 video cards with twin outputs on a lot of the desktops and equipping people with two 19 inch screens, which are also pretty cheap now.
Apart from me cos I'm only IT
