Hello all!

I've got vile and vicious SAT terminal that is being a bitch. I have configured the comms and emulation so that characters are display on the screen. BUT and this is a biggie... the function keys don't work. Meaning you you view one page at a time and then turn the damn thing off and on again. Now I've really pissed this thing off because all the keys are scrambled and doesn't display what key is pressed meaning that I can't do the usual control F1 to get into the config. Does anyone have any suggestions apart from never touch a SAT terminal again in your life. Is there any other way of getting into the config mode????

Hey Colby007. Been there and done that lol. You can try to do ctrl F1. That should get you in. Then do F6 to restore the saved values. Let me know what happens.

Thanks Mikey I've tried that and no amount of random button bashing can get this thing out of the coma. I woundered if there was any control alt delete type combo's when you're really in the shit!

Just a thought. What about leaving it unpluged for a while? Just wondering if that would set it back to nothing or the factory defaults.

Remember that any changes you make in the SAT setup, even if you do the "save", will only take effect AFTER you power it off and re-attempt the login..

That explains it I powered the SAT terminal off and now control F1 does jack! Any cunning plans would be useful - thanks.

Colby,

If you are going to be at that "bad boy" SAT on Monday morning leave me your number and I'll call you and go over my SAT set up.

Thanks Micheal but I'm sorry to say that it's my last day before christmas today.... Ha Ha!! The real problem now is that I can't access the setup screen no matter how much I hit control F1 or swinging it round my head by the kettle lead. SAT terminal's make good hammers incidentally! So now I can't configure the thing to rectify what I've done so I figure I'm screwed unless anyone has got a time machine or a handy combo like control alt delete or something. Any idea's???

I placed a call for you to my guru Colby. He didn’t know anyway to do it either. Sounds like you may have to fire up ASA until you can get this straight.
