Sanyo Phone and Add New Hardware Wizard

I have a buddy who bought a data cable for his Sanyo phone so he could upload ringtones,wallpaper,etc to his phone. He plugged in the phone and proceeded to go through the Add New Hardware wizard. He didn't know what he was doing and didn't insert the CD with the drivers on it. It then told him there was an error installing his new hardware. He asked me to come over and do it for him, and I did the same thing, but the wizard doesn't come up anymore. How can I get the wizard to be invoked again when I plug in the phone?

Just go to the Device Manager and delete the item that looks like the big "?" and then select the PC object and right click and left click "Scan for Hardware Changes" and that should find the new hardware.

... or just use a different USB socket! Ken's method is better though.
