Hey all,

It was suggested on xp pro forum, I post this here.

I have a fujitsu, laptop, ht 3.2, 800 fsb,
1 gig of factory installed ram. Ran great
for first 3 mos. , now crashes constantly -
bsod.

8 hour memory tests showed all clear.

here are what look like the most pertinent
warnings after running sandra.

( some benchmarks crashed it ) This is my
ht 3.2 laptop I'm having so much trouble with.
800 fsb.

---------------

Warning 2533 : Disabled host controllers are present. Check BIOS settings.

Warning 2507 : Mainboard has too few memory slots. Upgrading the memory may be difficult or expensive.

Warning 2508 : All memory slots are full. Upgrading the memory may be difficult or expensive.

Warning 100 : Large memory sizes should be made of Registered/Buffered memory.

Warning W2533 - The system has host controllers that have not been enabled by the BIOS/OS.

The BIOS does not support the Enhanced Disk Drive Specification. You may not be able to use the latest disk drives and technologies (e.g. 4-8GB and larger).
Fix: Try to upgrade (flash) the BIOS if possible. Check whether a BIOS update is available from your main board/PC manufacturer.

Warning 1206 - Device latency is high - the higher the latency, the more data a device can transfer in one go. The device may be hogging the bus for too long.

Warning W3101 - Power management is enabled. For desktops this is best to be disabled. If it is enabled, it may cause the drive to go into a low power/performance state or turn off.

Notice N5406 - System bandwidth appears to be memory limited. Generally this means that memory bandwidth is < 50% FSB bandwidth, thus CPU is starved. This generally indicates a mismatch between memory and system. Note that this does not indicate that memory timings are wrong, but the memory itself is slow.

NOTE comments"

The bios on this is pretty simple. I don't
see any host controllers in there. I dont see
any latency settings either.

thanks alot,

Beth

Well, I'm no expert on Laptop BIOS settings, but I would suggest that you load the Default or FailSafe Settings and Save upon exit... this might alleviate some probs... then do a thorough Virus Check just to be on the safe side...

Ben

If it works don't fix it! If it doesn't use a sledgehammer...

Thanks Ben,

Pretty much done all that.

In fact reverted back to the original factory
everything - going back to the ghost image on
drive D.

but something still very wrong.
