Can somone tell me or point me to some documentation of how SAN storage work???

For example: On RAID 5, if you have I,J,H,K partition it makes no difference since they are on one big stripe RAID 5. Same method on partition on SAN , let say if you have I,J,H,K, would you consider they are on the same storage???

I just don't know how SAN storage would work.

Please help

I think for RAID 5, it has error tolerrance. In other words, it comes all HDDs into one big stripe RAID, but when any HDD fails, you can hotswap (if hardware supports) and the lost data would be recovered through a specific algorithm on the chip.

Please correct me if i am wrong.

I think you miss my point. my question is about SAN storage not on RAID 5 since I already how it worked

Any other advises from SAN admin expert????
