I have checked this forum for shutdown problems and haven't seen anything that addresses this dumb problem. When I go to shutdown, I get a window pop up that says
"Ending Program - Sample Program" Clicking End Now may result in the loss of data. I get this stupid thing twice, then my system does shutdown ok. Anyone have any ideas? I am running W2k Professional, Service Pack 4 with all Security patches etc. I have tried turning off my Symantec Virus checker and CD burning program. Nothing else is running. I check the Applications Tab via Task Manager and no Applications are running. I don't see anything unusual in the Services either. I run Adware all the time and nothing has shown up there either.
I'm stumped. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome!!

tks,
yowza

Are you running a dell machine with a wireless NIC by any chance:
remove the Intel ProSet software from the PC
uninstall the drivers for the Wireless card
install the new software/drivers as provided from the Dell site (file
R64838.exe)
restart the machine
