I'm hoping that someone on the forum can help me understand the pitfalls I might encounter if I delete registry entries using regedit.exe. On my nephew's computer he has something that keeps resetting his explorer home page to GoHip-- There are a number of GoHip entries in the registry but I hesitate to just delete them. Any suggestions?

CDavis,

Get Rid of GoHip

AFA deleting registry entries, use extra caution when deciding to do this. Inadvertantly deleting some keys can leave your system in serious turmoil. I'd recommend prior to doing so, use Regedit to export the registry (or at least the relevant branches) to a .reg file onto a floppy disk. Then, after deleting the entries in question, if your system begins acting inappropriately, you can easily re-Import the .reg file to restore the registry to its initial state. HTH Jon Hawkins

Thanks Jon,
I knew someone would have an answer.
