Hi,
I've read that the sa password is stored in plain text in the registry when entered through Enterprise Manager in SQL Server 7. I tried to simulate this, but could not find a key that had the password I used stored in it. Does anyone know the name of the specific key that stores the password? I would like to include this information in a best practices for security document I am preparing. Also, any links to security tips for SQL Server on the web?
FWIW - the registry thing is fixed in SQL Server 2k per MS.
Thanks in advance for any insight!
