Guys,
I'm doing my first S8800 Server Install and I'm having a little trouble in RFA putting in the correct serial number. I'm using an S8800 with (3) G450's so there isn't an IPSI in this instance. I tried inputting the Serial number from the S8800 and when I try to load the license it fails. Should I be using a SN from one of the G450's? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

You MUST use the Serial Number of the 1st G450 you add, in other words "Media Gateway 1", you must also enable the ipsi emulation on the G450, The command is "ip license-server". This tells it to emulate an IPSI and respond properly. Don't forget to do the usual "copy running-config startup-config" to save the command for the next boot of the G450. FYI, the easy way to get the G450 serial number is "show system" in the G450 CLI.

Here is the G450 CLI reference for "ip license-server", page 550+551 of 1378:

Thank you for your Help. I kept looking in the S8800 user guide and couldn't find anything.

What command do I need to use in the G450 to enable the IPSI emulation?

The command is "ip license-server". This tells it to emulate an IPSI and respond properly.
