we are plan to upgrade to cm 2.1 and S8700.
Is S8700 server must order 2 set for install.
Is S8700 can work only single .

You can technically work with one server, but you will have a lot errors. Why not the s8500, its cheaper and its a single server. You will need IPSI, Medpro and CLAN.

if you are order ONE S8700, you will get 2 Servers.The S8700 is always a pair of Servers, they are fully redundant and in live operation, only one is active, the other one is in standby with shadowed memory and HDD.
If you don't need the redundant servers, go with the S8500 as suggested
