S8300 / G450 1

Can I stage an S8300 in a G450 then Install the S8300 in a G700? Will that cause conflicts? I have a customer that needs an LSP upgraded. I am hoping that I can have him ship me the processor only and I'll install cm 5.2 on it in my lab G450 and then ship it back to the customer. Has anyone tried this and succedded ?

It will not work.
You should know that the license is asigned to the serial number of the gateway which is different on both gateways.

I figured I wouldn't load the license until it's back into the G700 chassis. I just want to use the G450 to load the software and ship it back.

Yes, I do this all the time. As pointed out, you cannot do the "loadlicense" as it checks for the correct gateway serial number. You can still build the license in RFA, and copy the license and password files to the /var/home/ftp/pub directory, and when the processor is installed in the correct matching gateways serial #, you can do your "loadlicense" and "loadpwd" commands.
