Is there a way to get a user's .profile file to run
when you su to the user?

I looked at the previous post and a suggestion is to use :

su - user name

but I couldn't get this to work on Solaris

maybe I'm not understanding the syntax

su - <username> should work. Can you echo your $PATH once you've su'd and check it against the one in .profile? Cheers.
