I want to fire a stored proc that updates an audit trail
whenever a view is accessed. I have triggers to do this
but how can I fire a stored proc when a view is instaniated ?

Any ideas ??? [sig][/sig]

I don't think you can, at least not with triggers.
The alternative is the reverse: access the view only through a SP. [sig]<p>Robert Bradley<br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href= - Visual FoxPro Development</a><br> [/sig]

So I can create a SP that updates the audit-trail AND then
runs the view ??? [sig][/sig]

Yes.

The catch is that your client software needs to have the ability to run a stored procedure (i.e. via ODBC {call } functionality). [sig]<p>Robert Bradley<br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href= - Visual FoxPro Development</a><br> [/sig]
