I have a lot of proess running on my server that I cannot Identify. Is there someplace with a list of process that run for 2K? I would like to remove some things from there if I don't need them, and I don't know where to find them that are not listed in the start up list.

Do you mean the software started at logon?

Use REGEDIT (Click Start then Run and type REGEDIT, click OK). Browser the registry to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

In the above registry hive is the programs which start when Windows starts.

You can also see what is running by doing a Crtl-Alt-Del and then click the Task Manager. This is what is running on your machine at present plus how much CPU each task is using.

NB: The "Idle Prossess" is normally the top item in the CPU list.

NB2: Be very carefull when editing your Registry. Always Export the registry hive you are about to edit first!! This will hopefully avoid reinstalling Windows if you delete the wrong items from the registry.
