We are working on an VFP7 application designed to run from a CD with installation of any files. It seems to work fine on Win 98, WinMe, Win200 and WinXP, but on our (only) Win95 machine we get an error on startup of 'Damaged or invalid VFP7R.dll'. Has anyone met this before or know what the cause might be?

We'd be grateful for any info

Hi John;

Sorry, but VFP 7 will not run on W95.

From the MSDN Web:

Requirements for Installation
You can install Visual FoxPro on computers running Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 2000 or later operating systems.

Minimum hardware requirements are:

An IBM-compatible computer with a Pentium processor.
A mouse or pointing devise.
64 MB RAM (recommended: 128 MB or higher)
Diskspace for Visual FoxPro: 115 MB for a minimum installation, 200 MB for the maximum installation.
Diskspace for the Windows Component Update: depends on the Operating System but typically might require 50 MB.

John,
Actually while you can't install VFP 7.0 (the development environment) on Win95, applications created with VFP 7.0 can run in Win95. However the key is that it must be an up-to-date Win95 install. If you use InstallShield Express to install the VFP 7.0 application on Win95, it should update all the necessary files required.
