Running catalog takes time as script

Hi ,

Just wondering has anyone come across when catalog is run within the create database as a script takes around 5hours whereas running directly from sqlplus takes just 10min. Please help.

For eg : Create a script a.sh wherein has

Create database .......

@catalog.sql.......

Takes time

Whereas sql> @catalog.sql takes just 10min.

Why do you think that only this script takes all the time? I suppose that it's foolowed by not very efficient procedure recompiling invalid objects.

Thanks for the response. I feel that way as when I remove the create database command from there & run only the catalog from the script its slow
