As for running IIS on home edition, you can do it but you need a copy of 2000 !!!
Well, that or Windows XP Pro.

I do not believe you can use ME for ASP, either. I do remember that when I had ME (yes, it was a long time ago) that it was not a very good OS in the first place, let alone for doing any sort of programming or anything of that nature... To be honest, if you're looking to do any sort of programming in ASP, you would be better off getting XP Pro (or 2000, but I'd still go for XP since 2000 is sure to be phased out sooner as opposed to later)...

smiffy47,

I had ME for a long time and still do. Anyway, yes you can run PWS for ASP on ME and it runs OK though you will have frequent system hang-ups.

But as Chopstik says ME is not a good OS for development at all. It is only for home users who want to surf the net and work on day-to-day office applications.

Surprised no one else has posted it yet, but there was one post, in particular, that really went the distance on that issue: thread333-175058

If you search from the search button above on something like "XP Home" your will get a slew of additional hits where the question has been raised here in the past.
