I have 2x W2K machines one is used only for imaging with large discs, Photoshop, scanners, ink jet printers etc. This is connected peer to peer with another W2K machine, which is used for Internet access, email, MS office and other misc applications together with virus protection, firewall and Laser printer.
I have split them because of a history of instability on the imaging system - particularly with the Zone alarm firewall.
So far the split has worked well, but there are occasions when it would be convenient to access email and Internet from the Imaging system. Obviously I want to use the existing (4) identities and filing structure on the email machine and I had hoped to run the exe file on the email machine from the imaging machine through the network.
I get the feeling that this does not work peer to peer as it loads some dlls from the imaging machine and opens up the imaging machine IE6 and OE.
