I have created a powerpoint presentation. After a couple of slides I want to run an mpg file. I tried to embed the file in the slide. It works fine.

Problem: My boss has to give this presentation in another company, so I have to burn a CD for him. This causes the problem because the linked/embed/hyperlink addresses change.
Help is urgently required. The mpg file is a seperate file.

The problem is straight forward. I want to run a presentation with the mpg file from a CD. How do I create a link to the mpg file?
Thanks

I've never tried shifting a group to CD like that but I'll give it a try. It looks like the presentation is carrying the original reference for the embedded file and not adjusting for a change in directory.

SOLUTION 1: See if you can get at the Properties of the embedded file (usually select,right-click properties)and change the target or source file listing to the CD. I'll have a lok myself and get back quickly.
SOLUTION 2 (definite cure):
(1) Make a new folder (eg PRESENTATION) on the root directory of your PC (ie C:\PRESENTATION).
(2) Put the PowerPoint presentation (without embedded file), and the mpeg file on this directory separately.
(3) Now, open the PowerPoint file, FROM THE PRESENTATION FOLDER, and embed the mpg file.
(4) Burn the ENTIRE FOLDER AND CONTENTS (PP presentation and separate mpeg file) onto the CD.
(5) If your boss copies the entire folder onto the client PC it will run perfectly (Possibly your boss will be able to run this from CD).
Cheers,
John

Thanks a lot for the input. Well i did what to said in the Solution 2. For some reason it did not work.Somehow the embed thing does not work
I got it working. I dont know how or why but what I did was this

Created a folder and copied the two files in it then I went to Insert --> Movies and Sound -->Movie from File. Selected the mpg file and burned the whole folder on the CD.

Thanks again

I believe that's what I said in solution2; the rationale was to save the mpeg file along with the PP presentation because the so-called embedding process is possibly merely an embedded reference to the mpeg file path(and not an actual embedded file).
