RTF Files open in Word 2002 1

I have an interesting issue with Word 2002, I have some RTF files that are opened in Word 2002 but when word opens it prompts to convert the file. If I try this on another PC with the same version of Word the RTF file is opened with no prompt for conversion.

How can I change word so that it will be able to open RTF files without prompting to convert them?
