I have a customer who is running RRAS, for remote dial in connections only, on a Windows 2000 server running AD. It is a single server system and is therfore the PDC.
RRAS is set to obtain IP address from the DHCP server running on this Windows 2000 server.
It has WINS & DNS running and browsing on the internal works fine UNTIL - someone dials into the server and gets a RAS connection.
After this happens the Domain Master Browser record (1BH) and Domain controller record (1CH) in the WINS database are changed from the IP address of the server LAN card to the first DHCP assigned address for RRAS. Once this has occurred all workstations on the LAN have a completely empty browse list.
This problem is resolved by stopping & restarting the RRAS service, fine but I would really like to find a more permanent fix.
I have recently come across another site with almost identical configuration that has the same symptoms. I have search MS Technet on this and found nothing.
Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
