How are people doing code management of .rpt files. I am looking for a way to do a diff between two versions of the same file to see what has changed?

are you talking about the difference between 2 versions of the same database file, or the difference between 2 crystal reports?

I am talking two versions of a *.rpt file... In other words you make code changes. I want to be able to see what has changed in the code, not the outcome.

There's a number of third-party products out there on the market to help you with this (ReportMiner etc.). Another option would be to export each report to 'Report Definition' and then compare the results of the definition files - these are simply text files, so any standard 'diff' tool will work. Creating report definition files each time a report is changed or updated may be a good regimen to adopt anyway....

Hi Msteder,
Check out MKS. We use it to maintain version control and it provides the ability to see the previous version(s) of our reports. I can go back to the most recent version or the initial version or any version in between.
