Using and AS/400 as the master and the Siemens Programmable Logic Controller as the slave I've a problem carrying out a conversation with the PLC.
Although the majority of the communications are carried out in tact we reach certain points where expected returns from the PLC are not received into the AS/400 buffer.
We've monitored the communication using a sniffer and can see the correct packets being sent to and from the devices.
If anyone has experience with using RPG, AS/400 TCP Sockets and RS232 communications I'd like to hear from you before getting too involved in detail
