RPC Service not responding

Dell 4400 Server running Win2K SP2.
Have had the RPC service hang five times this week.
Nothing in the Event Logs, no error dialogues, nothing.
Can still use TS Client to connect, or use RemoteControl software to connect, but no clients can connect to shares.

Can you telnet into port 135 when it is at this state?
I would look at MS article Q272303 and reinstall SP2. Also you could run SFC.

Was unable to telnet.
We may re-install SP2 when it happens again (been almost 7 days now!).
Not sure what you mean by SFC?? Is it System File Check, or something like that?
