My form gets most of its data from selections made using drop down boxes. upon selecting these items and going to the corrisponding table, I notice the data being saved is not the data I chose on the form. It's actually the row # of my PK. how and where would I make the change to take the info out of the proper table column?

thank you, yes I did. along w/ a few other areas,, a search, and a google search. data entry on the form is set to "no" and I still can,t figure out why the records aren't available in the forms selector bar. has anyone had a problem like this?

Brian

Your combo boxes are working as they should. Since Access is a relational database, what you are storing is merely the reference (PK) or row number to the data, not the data itself.

The combo boxes have a hidden column that contains the PK. Since this is meaningless (or hsould be) to the user, it is hidden and only corresponding data is shown.

So you are in good shape.

Cheers,
Bill
