We have a customer with 3 x IP500 V2 sites and they want to route the calls for the 2 remote sites via the HQ so that calls can be recorded by the line side recorder there. I have amended the shortcodes for one of the remote sites to route their calls via the H323 trunk and then out of the SIP circuit at HQ (To be able to present their original number) however since doing this the remote site doesn't have any dial tone when they dial out (though calls are successful)and are unable to transfer calls to each other locally as they get "incompatible" message displayed.

Shortcodes I'm using are;

Remote site;
N
Dial
333N
6 (H323 Line)

On the H323 line at HQ I have set

333N
Dial
N
23 (SIP line)

Is it because I the shortcode needs to be 0N, Dial 3330N before I go ahead and make this change requiring a reboot?

Turns out the answer is yes :) 0N rather than N results in local transfers working again...

At remote site create a SC like 0N/Dial/0N/ARS
Create an ARS SC 0N/Dial/0N/H323Line and enable secondary dial tone in ARS.
At HQ site you can use the standard short codes for dialing outbound.

If you want to use a different ARS for outbound calls at HQ site use 0N/Dial/330N/H323Line in remote site ARS and create the following in HQ:
SC 330N/Dial/0N/ARS_for_remote_site_users
And in ARS for remote site users 0N/Dial/NS<whatever>/SIPLine
