Hi all-just wondering what people would recommend for establishing a VPN tunnel from the business owners home to a very small office(6 users w/pc's) and DSL on both ends.
The home office will only have 2 PC's and 1 IP Phone.
I'm a voice guy with a lot of experience in VOIP but no real experience with routers and VPN's.
I looked into Sonicwall and they are recommending the TZ180's at both sites plus licenses which comes out to well over a thousand dollars.
I was just wondering if anyone had any better solutions out there. How about Linksys?
Pro's,Con's?We want to get into providing and configuring these ourselves-any advice is much appreciated.
Thank-Vic

Adtran makes a great product. Also you can find specific tech articles for hooking up locations with IP Office & Adtran. Their tech support is amazing as well. A lot of times you get what you pay for in networking equipment. Adtran you will get an engineer that knows what they are doing. Chances are w/ netgear and linksys you will be sent over seas to a tier 1 page flipper. Reading you questions from a book.

Adtran is more on the middle/high end equipment. Where Netgear and linksys are the SOHO market. Really depends on what kind of reliability you are looking for.

Have been running two IP phones across a pair of Sonicwall TZ170's for ages without any issues.

Have also used a pair of PC's running IPCop to establish a site-to-site VPN which we run voice over without any problems.

We're working with Draytek router Vigor 2900 and work ok. If you want to generate only VPN tunnel to work with IP hardphone, I sugest you try with Checkpoint Safe@office 500.
