router is romon and ethernet is not working

hello friends

we are using the router 1720 for the leased lines, yhis morning when i came to office ethernet is down and the through console, i am in romon, when i restart the router it is working fine, what may be the problem,any suggestions to amke not to repeat this problem

Are you on a UPS, and did you have any power hits over night?

It could be a number of reasons. It may have rebooted and gotten confused. It could be the flash starting to get flakey. Could even have taken a hit through the leased line. Does this happen often or is this the first time?

I would strongly suggest logging your problems to a separate server to be able to diagnose this problem in the future.

Hi all,

I would also check the config register value making sure is doesn't end in zero and there is no boot statements commands in the config which may point to a nonexisting image.
