Hi
can any one tell me how can I delete running routers IOS?? I have one router I want to install new IOS on that router but when I copy IOS on router it says low on memory. I want to delete old running IOS so that I can upload new IOS? can I delete running IOS ?? if yes How? wht is the procedure to replace/delete old IOS with new one?

sounds like your new IOS is too big for the flash, as when upgrading the IOS you are normally prompted to erase the current IOS before loading the new one, check IOS size to flash size, you might need a bigger flash card/memory stick.

Hi

If you start to copy an image and you don't get asked if you would like to erase the flash before copying, then I recommend you consult the manual specific to your router model.
Cisco has a good search engine, go to and enter something like "2500 ios upgrade" I am sure you'll find a detailed step-by-step description straight away.

Hope this helps.

regards,
Alain

Make sure that even if it does fit on the flash that you have enough main memory to run it........
