Hi there, i have a 2610 series router in the university where i am studying. When i turned it on this morning it was in rommon mode. I then issued the following commands to reload from flash

rommon1>MONRC=BOOT=Flash:,n;
rommon2>Sync (this saves the change)
rommon3>reset (to take effect)

this didnt work however and the following message now appears and i cant get rid of it!!!

loadprog:bad file magic number: 0x0
open:failed to find and/or load the bootloader:"flash:copy"
loadprog: error - on file open
boot: cannot load "flash:n"

I think i have managed to delete flash on the router, anyone any explaination??please!!

Have managed to get rommon back on again, i went to the cisco site and the commands they had to fix this problem was:
rommon1>MONRC = BOOT = Flash:,n;
rommon2>sync
rommon3>reset

when i do this it just gos back to the same error message as before.

power cycle the router
when rommon boots back up, type 'i' to initialize ( boot up into flash)

if this doesn't work then this will (as long as you have a backup of the image and have some tftp software)
this link saved my hide once upon a time when working with a 2610
