Hi,

I have a Netgear FR114P Cable/DSL Prosafe firewall and I cannot get a dynamic IP from my ISP.

When I configure my router to use static IP address - it works fine and I'm able to access the internet.

But, when I select 'get dynamically' IP in my router web-based configuration, my router indicated that my IP is a fixed IP address - but this is not true as my IP gets changed every 2/3 days by my ISP..which means that every time my ISP assigns me a new IP..i have to change the settings of my router. :-(

Could anyone help,
Thanks all in advance,
Kev

I think i may have been unclear..Wot i meant is that my router cannot automatically pick-up the new IP address provided by my ISP. Every time my IP address gets changed, I have to manually update my IP address in my router settings for the internet to work.

could anyone help,
thanks in advance,
kev

I suspect you have not configured something properly on the router. Contact a techie at your ISP and ask them how it needs to be configured.
