router(boot)> - why the router showing boot.

I just ugrade this router and it is show boot beside the hostname eg. router(boot)>
 
You get this mode of operation when your IOS upgrade has failed, you need to get a vaild IOS on the router.
 
Check these other issues in addition to the software.
A router going into ROMmon or boot mode could be caused by one of the following :

The configuration register (config-reg) is set like that
The dynamic RAM (DRAM) is bad
The router crashed and does not recover
The Cisco IOS® Software image is corrupted or not present

It is True that a failed Software upgrade is the most common cause of a router going into ROMmon or boot mode. Route once; switch many
 
This was the problem because a new IOS fixed it.
