Hi

I need a router or switch to take in traffic then route that traffic out of one of four Ethernet ports dependent on the SOURCE IP address.

I have been advised that Policy Based routing will do this, but nobody at Cisco seems to know what platforms they make that support it. Specifically, it must be supported on Fast Ethernet interfaces.

Has anyone tried his, know anyone who has, or knows what platform will do this?

Hi,

At first look, this is a kind of segragating the incoming traffic.
You can investigate in 2 direction:
1. with router: where you can route specific packets to each ethernet port (of the routerà and connect these ports to where you need.
2. with switch using specific vlans/ports to segragate the traffic and connect those ports to where you need.

I have experience both case.

The 6500 supports routing policy. The MSFC combined with the PFC has Cisco IOS Policy Routing features.
I guess if only such a combination supports Policy routing then no lower-end L3 swicth would support it.

The problem is easier when wishing to implement routing policy on routers.
